Abstract: This study aims to analyze the understanding of Physical Education teachers of the municipal elementary school (final years) of Caruaru-PE about the Pernambuco Curriculum. The methodology used to conduct the research was quantitative and descriptive in nature. The use of these methods made possible a greater apprehension about the subject. Thus, at first, the research was aimed at a bibliographical and documentary study of the collections already produced by several authors in the area of education, Physical Education and documents prepared by the government, both at the federal and state levels. For data collection the research had as collection tool the use of a closed structured questionnaire with 10 questions. The research sample consisted of 20 Physical Education teachers who teach in the municipal network of Caruaru-PE. The state of Pernambuco has historically been preparing documents with the concern to ensure a foundation in the teaching-learning process that meets the needs and expectations, aiming at a quality education in state schools. The Secretary of the State of Pernambuco created the Pernambuco Curriculum, from the National Common Curricular Base, a national document of guiding character. Thus, The BNCC and the Curriculum of Pernambuco are documents that aim to expand the possibilities of building essential knowledge throughout the schooling period. From the results of the research collection, it is concluded that 90% of the teachers interviewed use some curricular base document prepared by the State of Pernambuco and 10% of the participants never used any of the documents covered in the research. Thus, it is clear that most of Caruaru’s municipal teachers are based on the Pernambuco Curriculum or another guiding document designed by the Pernambuco State Department of Education, and on other documents formulated before them, for didactic organization. of Physical Education classes.
