Abstract:

The games have the possibility to stimulate the improvement of the human being, the competitive environment is attractive, making its practice pleasant. The aim of the study was to analyze how the competitive environment throughout the year can re-signify the principles and values of the educated within the educational context. For that, it was necessary: a) to identify the values and principles rooted in the conduct of students and the possible problems of living within the school community; b) analyze how the rules and norms of the competitive environment can infer the meaning of the principles and values expressed by the students; c) collectively build an autonomous competitive environment where the re-signified values and principles are evidenced. The study used a qualitative approach, the data collection instruments used were: participant observation, field diary, in addition to conducting the focal group by video conference, respecting the isolation rules at the time of the pandemic. Through intentional sampling, the individuals who made up the focus group were selected, the data obtained were organized respecting their specificities, then content analysis was performed. Through the construction of the project, it was possible to modify inappropriate behaviors of students, who were preexisting in the educational environment, strengthen the interrelationships between genders, allowing students to understand the real meaning of games, that winning is a consequence, not their main objective. Finally, it became evident that the competitive school environment internally and externally, when worked from the perspective of the “school sport”, provide a new meaning for the students' principles and values.
