Abstract: The present historical period has great consequences for national education, the entry into the digital age and the constant use of technology were factors that changed all sectors of society, including those related to education and classrooms. Mathematics, historically, is one of the most important parts of individuals’ schooling. However, studies indicate that it is the subject where Brazilian students have greater learning difficulties. This paper aims to analyze the presence of mathematics during the undergraduate course of Pedagogy in Brazilian colleges, in order to identify whether the root of this problem is linked to the limited approach of the subject in the course that trains future teachers of basic education. The methodology selected for the work presented here is qualitative and descriptive, exposing the main theoretical contributions on the theme that is analyzed together with a field study carried out with 20 members who report their opinions and experiences with the matter of mathematics in undergraduate studies. Pedagogy. The results show that there is still a lot of difficulty related to teaching and learning mathematics in the classroom, from basic education to higher education. The conclusion is that it is necessary that the teaching methodologies are reformulated and the contents are passed in a more contextualized way, as well as it is necessary to increase the workload directed to mathematics in Pedagogy courses in Brazil.
