Abstract: This work aims to investigate how the teaching and learning process takes place through the use of playfulness in early childhood education, as well as investigating which actions and strategies are used by teachers in their school routine. Also seeking to identify the difficulties faced in their teaching practice from the perspective of playfulness. In order to meet the proposed objectives, the present research is of a quantitative and qualitative nature in an exploratory way, having as subjects of the research 24 teachers from the public and private network of the city of Gravatá-PE. The methods used for data collection were: direct observations and an investigative questionnaire applied to the subjects included in that research. In this sense, this study also sought to investigate how the teaching-learning process occurs from the use of playfulness in early childhood education and to outline which strategies can be effectively used by teachers during their teaching practice. To better systematize the purpose of this work, initially, a bibliographic survey was carried out in order to be able to deepen the knowledge about the themes in question. Then the pedagogical investigation that took place through the “in locco” research. Then, the pedagogical intervention began, which took place in the classroom with the use of strategies and playful actions. The data collected and the percentages presented were collected and properly measured in an attempt to clarify the analyzes and interpretations in the light of the theories addressed. The results allowed us to point out that educators who use recreational activities in their teaching practice value their classes, making them more attractive, fun and interesting to the point of awakening, in the student, the desire to learn what they intend to teach. Still in accordance with the above, it should be noted that, once immersed in this universe of playfulness, problems related to psychological and cognitive aspects can be minimized. Thus, the student has a range of possibilities to have a better understanding of what is intended to teach. Therefore, the student will be predisposed to learning, thus becoming a learning being with a great possibility of learning significantly.
