Abstract: This dissertation has as general objective to analyze and reflect on the possibilities and challenges in the textual productions of the students of the ninth years of the final years. The analyzes are essential for the construction of critical readers, in view of an even more interpretive scenario of the universe of words and productions. Therefore, the general and specific objectives, theoretical foundation, methodological procedures and results are presented. This study seeks to expose efficient reading and writing skills and competences, bringing dynamism to writing something pleasant and pleasurable, so it is essential for the formation of critical citizens to support educational praxis directed to the reality of students. For this reason, it is vital that there are innovations in pedagogical practices based on theoretical references and official documents, in which the teacher, in agreement with the school space, sharpens instigating learning, which directs the realization of literate people and active writers in this learning process. Therefore, a bibliographical, investigative and field analysis was chosen with a qualitative-quantitative and descriptive approach, using graphs and tables. The materials were acquired through the application of the questionnaire prepared by semi-structured questions, containing eight open and closed questions, applied via the internet, by Google Forms, due to sociable segregation, due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19. The subjects participating in the research counted a total of 15, being 5 teachers and ten students of the ninth grades. Thus, it is understood that the act of reading needs to be fluid and pleasurable, keeping in accordance with the students’ experience, the practice of reading and writing are perspectives for efficient textual production. Thus, the specific objectives were outlined: To observe the reading, in view of the analyses, skills and decoding skills, writing within the context proposed to students of elementary school II – final years; foster reading strategies, considering the premise that the more you read, the better you express yourself and write, because the writing process requires development through context, uniting coherence, cohesion and clarity. The results indicate that there are efficient didactics supported by theoretical and official documents, which direct paths that lead teachers, school and students to foster creativity and stimulate a taste for reading, aiming to transform passive citizens into active ones that go beyond the school environment.
