Abstract: This study has as its theme the importance of interdisciplinary education projects for oral health awareness. The general objective of this work was to understand how interdisciplinary projects on oral health awareness are used. Even taking many actions and creating projects to improve the quality of education in Brazil, it is necessary to emphasize the need to further expand interdisciplinary projects aimed at education and oral hygiene in schools. The theorists consulted for this research like Brasil (2000); Ferreira (2011); Rangel (2017), among others, state that promoting actions and carrying out interdisciplinary projects can promote not only the knowledge necessary for prevention and the habit of hygiene and oral health, but there is also the possibility that the student can become a protagonist in this process being responsible for taking the knowledge to other people of its socio-cultural environment. To carry out this work, bibliographic studies of books, scientific articles, dissertations, magazines and periodicals were made. For greater reliability on what it was proposed to research in this work, a quali-quantitative research was carried out, through a diagnostic questionnaire composed of 6 (six) questions that deal with the constant theme in this work, being the research subjects: teachers, coordinators and school managers from public and private schools in the city of Gravatá – PE. Through the results and information taken from the research questionnaires, and the percentages properly collected and measured, one can see the importance of interdisciplinary projects and actions in the school that aim at health education and oral hygiene. The percentages also showed that some factors can be pointed out as being of paramount importance for the implementation of interdisciplinary projects, considering that from the problems related to the lack of oral health, several problems related to the student’s academic performance may occur. According to the data collected and the percentages presented, there was also a possibility that socioeconomic and cultural factors may contribute to the lack of health and hygiene and oral health. In view of this reality, the importance of interdisciplinary projects at school was confirmed; there is a need for the teacher to seek even more to invest in the promotion of projects aimed at education in health and oral hygiene; that oral health education must be further expanded so that everyone has access to information and treatment.
