Abstract: This paper brings a reflection on the importance of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as tools for effectiveness and maintenance of education during the Covid-19 pandemic. Also how the incorporation of digital technology in teaching and learning processes was and is essential as a means of inclusion and that in Brazil there are great obstacles resulting from social inequality. In this context, the general objective of this study is to analyze the digital technology of information and communication and its importance in the school context as tools for effective teaching in times of pandemic. The study sought to show the impacts of the health crisis on education and the importance of guaranteeing access to digital technological means as a requirement in the inclusion process, above all, with a special look at those who are excluded from the digital world. The methodology used in this study had a qualitative approach, anchored in a bibliographic research using books, articles, documents from institutions and research data conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), by the Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society (CETIC), by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). As a result of the scientific study in question, the relevance and relevance of the use of DICTs in schools is highlighted as a condition without which the student cannot keep up with all personal and social development, in terms of knowledge, in the 21st century. If before, such technology was rejected in the classroom, with the pandemic, they have proven to be useful and necessary tools to ensure education and the very survival of the person. In a global scenario, digital technology needs to be inserted into the daily lives of many Brazilians, since knowledge, as far as this information is concerned, reaches everyone with greater intensity and frequency through computers, cell phones, the internet, and so many other platforms.
