Abstract: This study has the general objective of analyzing the use of assistive technologies in inclusive practice with students with visual impairments in Youth and Adult Education. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research with a case study approach, using bibliographic and documentary analysis and observation. These procedures allowed data collection and a dynamic interaction between the results obtained from each instrument, providing a comprehensive understanding of the study object. The results indicate that the available assistive technologies are scarce, and the few functional equipment are used without the necessary training. Regarding the inclusion and accessibility policy, the school analyzed does not have a policy aimed at students with disabilities, including those with visual impairments. There was a lack of rooms for specialized care and continuing training for the education of these students. The young people and adults involved in the study demonstrate a desire to learn and use technological resources, but the school lacks adequate professionals and materials for this work. It is concluded that it is essential to respect human diversity, with all its potential and limitations. The school must promote technological innovation, both for entertainment and for school use, considering the plurality of users and avoiding privileging only those considered “normal”. It is important to recognize that there are no “abnormal” people, just different ones, all with full possibilities for learning and growth.
