Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to describe how the work focused on Monotheism and Polytheism happens: contradictions of religions in a Brazilian educational erspective at the Escola Deputada Maria do Céu Pereira Fernandes, in the municipality of Goianinha/RN. For the realization of the same, we opted for conducting a field research, in a descriptive and explanatory way, which used inductive and statistical methods. The present work aimed, mainly, to verify how the proposal of work carried out in the school previously mentioned happens with regard to religious aspects and its relation with the bibliographic researches carried out by the researcher, the emphasis given by the school to this theme and how it has didactic treatment took place considering that it is an extremely relevant subject in the formation of Brazilian society. With regard to data collection, the method of direct and extensive observation was chosen, using a questionnaire as a research instrument, containing open and closed questions. During the research it was possible to know the theoretical and methodological proposal of the Maria do Céu school and its learning conceptions, as well as the importance of the school for the development of the local community, being observed from the significant increase in enrollments and assiduous attendance of those who they are already enrolled, thus highlighting the team work that has been developed at the institution in the last five years. It was found through the questionnaires that there is a joint work aimed at reducing and / or resolving religious conflicts, but that the need for improvement in this area of knowledge is a challenge for most of the team members, in which the openness and permissiveness of the debates are on the responsibilities of the Religious Education teacher. In the end, it was found that the school has a well- articulated work in general and that the educational work must create conditions so that there is greater openness for the discourse of religious aspects with regard to monotheism and polytheism, seeking subsidies to articulate conflicts between students and alleviate the religious prejudice so persistent in Brazilian society.
