Abstract:The present research deals with the need to instigate the protagonism in the learning of students of the first year of high school at the State Technical School Governador Eduardo Campos, located in the city of São Bento do Una-PE. For a long time it was noticed that students' interest in learning was increasingly scarce, in this way, it was felt the need to investigate the reason for such lack of commitment, thus reaching the conclusion that most students did not carry out the own learning through the lack of attractiveness of the classes offered. Therefore, it was proposed to work with Active Methodologies in order to instigate the student to search for self-education. This work aimed to demonstrate how active methodologies promote autonomy in learning in students of the first year of high school at Escola Técnica Estadual Governador Eduardo Campos, from the state network of Pernambuco in the city of São Bento do Una-PE. Through observation and completion of questionnaires with first year students, teachers of common base subjects and coordinators, the work was carried out through the presentation of some Active Methodologies in order to promote autonomy in students. Such a sample provoked curiosity, engagement, formation of partnerships, as well as arousing in students a greater desire to seek knowledge from the moment it was challenged through Active Methodologies that placed it at the center of their own learning. The research carried out pointed out that the vast majority of students would like the classes taught to be more attractive, thus showing the need to reevaluate the methodologies adopted so far as well as rethinking the possibilities for classes to meet the current needs of students. The survey also showed that teachers would like more training on the subject so that they can put them into practice. It was then noticed that the way in which certain content is presented has a very significant weight in relation to student learning, making them learn in a different and fun way, becoming proactive and emancipated.
