Autor: Francisco do Nascimento, Daniel

Date of document: September, 17-2021

Abstract: It is increasingly common to use ICTs in our daily lives in order to facilitate our activities this thesis arose in the search for understanding how public schools have explored these technologies in the educational context. With the objective of evaluating what are the factors that contribute to the distancing of ICTs from the pedagogical practices of public schools. The research was developed in two state schools located in Igarassu-PE, Brazil: Escola Santos Cosme e Damião and Eurico Pfisterer. The research subjects were teachers and students of these schools and the data were obtained from the application of questionnaires. It was found that both teachers and students conceive ICTs as tools that promote richer, more attractive classes that contribute to learning. Since they bring benefits bothto everyday life and to the students’ learning process. Among the limiting factors for the use of these resources, the following were cited: the internet signal, the low amount of equipment, the lack of continuing teacher training. In addition, from skills to insert ICTs as a pedagogical strategy, time is needed to prepare classes with the use of these technologies and for some teachers the “desire” to innovate their pedagogical practices by inserting ICTs in the educational context is essential. aspects that may limit the frequent use of ICTs, in our view, can be overcome with the support of public policies and the goodwill of educational agents, whether managers, teachers or support staff. One action that can contribute is to carry out projects to share ICT knowledge. During the research itwas verified that action still occurs in an isolated and scarce way. Thus, it is up to the 21st century teacher to reflect on the benefits that ICTs can offer to the teaching-learning process and face the challenges, trying to overcome possible obstacles, so that innovation in their teaching practices and the motivation of doing and learning through of ICTs in Santos Cosme and Damião and Eurico Pfisterer schools, and we hope that the various teachers from other Brazilian public schools understand that there are challenges, but it is possible to insert ICTs as a pedagogical tool and obtain an improvement in the quality of teaching and learning.
