Abstract:

This dissertation had as main objective to identify the importance of teacher training and its contribution to their pedagogical practices in the classroom even in the face of daily challenges. The study can be understood as a descriptive research with a considered a bibliographic research that addresses the issue of teacher training, analyzing, above all, the training of early childhood education teachers and recognizing the existence of several factors that stimulate the search for knowledge for training. It begins by reflecting on the educational system, discussing the purpose and objectives of education, the importance of basic education for the individual, focusing on nine-year teaching and also the quality of education, the trajectory of Early Childhood Education after the Law on Education Guidelines and Bases. It seeks to verify the importance of teacher training in the development of early childhood education, emphasizing the results of basic education and, then, questions about the behavior of teachers in the 21st century are addressed, showing their role as an agent of transformation and the process of educating to citizenship, aiming at a critical, cultural and social formation of the student. The research also revealed the importance of training professionals in Early Childhood Education, given the need for an association between theory and practice, teacher autonomy and the process of continuing education. This survey shows the urgency of introducing new knowledge to education professionals through initial and continuing education, enriching the complex environment of Brazilian education.
