Autor: de Oliveira Azevedo, Milane

Abstract: The ability to read and interpret is fundamental to continue the formal educational process and the development of the human being, because it is believed that reading transforms the human being and makes him modify the space in which he is inserted. Based on this idea, the problem of the present research project was generated: ―what are the factors that are contributing to the students passing through elementary school I, without acquiring the compatible skills regarding reading and text interpretation‖? To answer this question, a field research was designed at Vila Rio Grande do Norte Municipal School, which aims to evaluate the reading and textual interpretation skills of students with difficulties in these processes, identifying the pedagogical practices adopted after the results. propose to the pedagogical team, alternatives to remedy the deficits diagnosed. The action research includes students from the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, their parents who will provide information that can complement the analysis and discussions, coordinators and pedagogical staff who will be asked about the pedagogical practices developed in Portuguese. Students will participate in a survey, ie a diagnosis of reading skills, interpretation and textual production. The result of the diagnosis will be presented to all pedagogical staff so that they can reflect on possible gaps that the process has left along the academic path of these students and from this, present pedagogical alternatives that include active learning methodologies in which to stimulate the potential of learners regarding reading, interpretation and textual production.
