Abstract: This study talked about the autistics children. The autism is a Pervasive Developmental Disorder characterized by difficulties in the social areas, interaction areas, communication and behavior areas. There is no cure to the Autism, it is usually diagnosed in children with three years old and its treatment looks for a better quality of life for the autistic person. Autistics children have problems to learn in the traditional way, so it is important that teachers reframe the way of teaching them, using playful materials for a pleasurable and meaningful learning. So, this research sought to verify the importance of playfulness and the main challenges faced by teachers in the autistics children’s teaching process. This research brought some considerations about the autism, the importance of the plays in the children’s teaching process, the autistics children’s teaching process and the playfulness, and the main challenges faced by the autistics children’s teachers. An exploratory and descriptive field research was carried out. A literature search was carried out, and a questionnaire was produced for ten educators from the Lions Club Rehabilitation and Special Education Center in the Garanhuns’s city, Pernambuco. The research had a qualitative and quantitative approach, and the data analysis was done through the Content Analysis. The survey results showed that: the teachers understand what autism is; the teachers stated that autistics students have learning difficulties; the teachers think that its important to use playfulness in the autistics children’s teaching; the teachers stated that children who use playful materials have a better learning performance; the most of teachers rated that professionals who use playfulness in the autistics children’s teaching are excellents professionals; the teachers declared that the playful promotes a greater interaction between the autistics children and their pairs and teachers in the teaching process; the teachers pointed out that there are challenges that education professionals face when they use playful materials in autistics children’s teaching. We conclude that this research provided a greater inclusion of the autistics’ children in the schools, as well, this research brings relevants informations about the autistics children’s way of learning, showing that autistic children can learn, as long as the necessary methods are used by the teachers. So, the information contained in this research could be used in order to obtain knowledge by professionals in the area, especially teachers, in addition, this research helped teachers to rethink their professionals practices, making them more capable of teaching autistic children.
