Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the causes of illness among teachers and how the readaptation process took place in the city of Santa Cruz do Capibaribe/PE. In addition, it led to know a little of the dramas experienced by these professionals, to be aware of the laws that ensure these rights without financial loss. However, it cannot be said that they were emotionally unscathed, as the statements that were presented showed that they had difficulties in changing their role after many years in the profession. There were some reports of dissatisfaction from a large number of these teachers when they talked about devaluation, lack of recognition, exhaustive routine and outdated salaries, as there were many cases in which the floor law was not effectively complied with by all governors, lack of resources to exercise the profession, violence in the school environment, among others. This dissertation was based on investigations and analyzes in qualitative research carried out in municipal schools in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, located in the interior of Pernambuco. In this respect, this research was carried out with 10 teachers working at the Santa Cruz do Capibaribe Department of Education, who were permanently readapted in several schools in the city, performing different functions. Data were collected in an electronic questionnaire through google formes, as it was the safest and possible way due to the COVID 19 pandemic, also caused other harms that were, in some cases, analyzed the loneliness and feeling of impotence when performing this new function, which, consequently, caused emotional problems and dissatisfaction. In other cases, a certain accommodation on the part of the readapted for staying in the same school was noticed, thus demonstrating an unwillingness to contribute to it.
