Abstract: Vocational technical education has been the subject of great discussions lately, and now it is strengthened as a government policy that intends a reform in high school as a solution to the negative indicators of high school assessments, considering the importance and relevance of the subject this study aimed at develop a field research with the main objective of analyzing how professional technical education is developed in the IFPB Patos-PB campus its challenges and its possibilities. The professional technical education integrated to secondary education is a current topic and of great academic relevance for studies related to the education process. The research is characterized as field, descriptive and bibliographical, and used as a theoretical reference LEAL (2017), MACHADO (1996), CUNHA (2000) and FERRETTI (1997) was presented within the quali-quantitative model, applied with 43 students, besides the direction and pedagogical coordination of the IFPB Patos-PB campus. It also sought to reflect on the challenges and possibilities that permeate IFPB’s offer of technical courses at the secondary level, describing how the Federal Technical Institutes work towards the creation and maintenance of a solid foundation of training and, at the same time, meeting emerging demands specific technical vocational training.
