Abstract:

Education has been built in the perspective of teaching and learning, so that those responsible for these activities are people who must have beyond the technical ability to pass knowledge to individuals the professional competence to perform such function, the teaching function. These characteristics are extrinsic, since they are external to the context of teacher training, insofar as they must be carried or produced by the individual himself. It was questioned in this research: What training should the teacher have to teach? Does teaching in your training area improve student performance? How does one give the pedagogical practice of the teacher who works in the adverse area of his formation? In order to understand the teacher 's practice, this research aims to understand if this teaching in the area of knowledge the students of elementary education II in the cities of Pedra Branca - PB and Nova Olinda - PB has higher school performance. The aim of the research was to understand the teacher's performance in deviation from their specific area of formation and the school performance of the elementary school students II of the cities of Pedra Branca - PB and Nova Olinda - PB. It was sought to map the teachers of the state network and its disciplines, tracing the teaching profile of elementary education and then characterized the formation of teachers of elementary education II of the cities of Pedra Branca - PB and Nova Olinda - PB, in addition to establishing the relationship between the training of teachers and the area of action in teaching and the impact on the school performance of students in elementary education II. The research universe was composed of teachers from the state network who work in the state schools of the municipalities of Pedra Branca - PB and Nova Olinda - PB. A total of 40 questionnaires were applied to the teachers, and 18 questionnaires were analyzed from the obtained questionnaires. For this research, the data collection instrument used will be a questionnaire applied with all the teachers of the Pedra Branca state network - PB and Nova Olinda - PB. It was identified that the teaching profile is in transformation. Their age group is concentrated between 25 and 46 years of age, mostly women, who hold effective positions, having between 5 and 10 years of classroom activity, both in elementary and middle school, has a degree, with a great degree of satisfaction about his performance in the classroom, without the ability to perform outside his area of training, but mostly for some reason, contradicting some answers. In the characterization of the teachers, it was verified that all the teachers have a degree in some discipline, which gives them legitimacy to the action in the teaching of said formation. It should be noted that many teachers do not have postgraduate or continuing education. These fields of knowledge expansion should be increasingly explored in order to improve the quality of teaching and, consequently, student learning.
