Abstract: School dropout is a phenomenon that has been growing hardly over the last decades, especially around youth and adults teaching (YAT). Plenty of factors can promote this event, such as the student way of life, relating to family income and work needs, as well as the difficulties of adaptation to the methodology and didactic applied by teachers and also the curricular curriculum of teaching, the low writing skill developed by the students, and so on. The goal of this research was to evaluate the school dropout rates recorded in the 2017 school year, and the main factors promoting School Evasion for (YAT) students in the main public schools in Patos city in Paraiba State ( PB). For that, 15 students of the (YAT) teaching modality of some local public schools in Patos were selected. According to the results, it was observed that among the (YAT) schools in local, the EMEF School Monsignor Manoel Vieira, mainly between the 6th and 7th grades, and the 1st and 4th grades, in the EMEF School Sabino Freire showed the highest rate of school dropout in 2017. The research where was carried out showed that the majority of the students were men (4) and women (3), with ages varying between 17 and 50 years, with a diversified marital status, with variations among single, married, widowed and separated states, respectively. One of factors in charge for school abandonment by youngsters and adults attending classrooms in the YAT mode of teaching, it is verified according to them were: a) Needs of working and support the family, b) Marriage, children and the needs of taking care of the housework, c) Involvement with drugs, drug dealing and d) Fights around schools, as shown below. As for the analysis of the factors that help students return in the following years to the classrooms of the Youth and Adult Education program, the desire to finish their studies and in roll to college, improve life conditions and getting a job. From this point of view, when it comes about future, most students present the prospect of getting a job as the key to returning to study. Similarly, the desire to take a college course is also as dream for the students, or getting to the top in relation to be succeeded in life, and improving their living conditions or supporting their families. According to the students talk, the negative points of the YAT focus mainly on classroom overcrowding, lack of teacher mastery, uninteresting contents, and routine methodologies that do not encourage students to remain in the classroom and graduate. The main internal and external fact that cause school dropout from the perspective of the pedagogical team are those related to the lack of adequate methodology applied in the classroom, far away school, stressful work routine, family conflicts and cases of flunking sequenced at the right age. To The students the main indicators for school dropout are those associated with the lack of time for study and student interest, and the difficult access to schools. The highest school dropout rates were registered in the EMEF schools by Monsignor Manoel Vieira between the 6th and 7th grades, and the 1st and 4th grades, mainly at the Sabino Freire EMEF School.
